10 years on, KU’s offsite satellite campus yet to be completed, locals protest | KNO

Srinagar, July 18 (KNO) : Inhabitants of Kupwara district on Thursday staged a protest against Kashmir University authorities for miserably failing to make its offsite satellite campus in the district functional. The local inhabitants as per KNO correspondent said that the campus is under construction for 10th straight year now at Wayen Kupwara, but the authorities have utterly failed to complete the project, thus leaving the students to lurch at large. “It is a brazen disregard towards education providing nature of the University which is forcing students to hardships. KU’s inefficiency has only dented its administrative capabilities,” protesters alleged. “A handsome population of our students including Boys and Girls who belong to economically weaker sections are made to suffer. The satellite campus in Leh was made functional in two years however in Kupwara a decade is not enough for KU,” Showkat Masoodi a protester said as per KNO Correspondent. The protesters have threatened of across district protesters if authorities fail to make the campus functional at the earnest.(KNO)
